HWL Windows has been selected as a supplier for the Welborne Garden Village development in Hampshire, where it is delivering flush timber-alternative glazing systems for Phase 1 of the project.
Welborne Garden Village, led by The Buckland Group, is planned as a 6,000-home development over the next 25 years, with architectural direction provided by Ben Pentreath.
According to the editorial, HWL was selected following a specification process involving sample presentations to the architect and local planners to ensure the glazing systems met the development’s heritage design requirements.
HWL is currently manufacturing and installing approximately 750 windows and doors for developers PYE Homes and CG Fry during the initial phase of the scheme.
The company said its 76mm flush system was selected for its traditional timber-style appearance alongside modern thermal performance, including A+ energy ratings and U-values as low as 1.2 W/m²K with double glazing.
Graham Howatson, Director at HWL Windows, said: “We are incredibly proud to be a chosen partner for a project as prestigious as Welborne.”
Howatson added that the project required long-term consistency and attention to detail to meet the architectural standards established for the development.
Paul Self, Commercial Director at The Buckland Group, said the design of Welborne Garden Village had been carefully planned to reflect traditional Hampshire villages, with more than 50% of the development allocated as publicly accessible green space.
