Deceuninck UK has become a Founding Corporate Member of the Women in Fenestration Network (WFN), strengthening its commitment to supporting talent and creating opportunities across the industry.
The newly formed network brings women from across the sector together through professional development, mentoring, training and networking opportunities.
Its programme has been shaped around the experiences and challenges identified by women working in fenestration, including confidence, career development and access to mentoring.
The network’s inaugural Professional Development Day was attended by more than 75 women from across the supply chain.
The event also marked the launch of the WFN Mentoring Programme, which connects women at different stages of their careers with experienced industry professionals who can offer practical guidance and support.
Alison Plumb, HR Director Southern/Western Europe at Deceuninck, said: “There is an incredible amount of talent within our industry, but people don’t always have access to the connections or support they need to take the next step in their careers.
“The Women in Fenestration Network is creating practical opportunities for women to learn from one another, build useful relationships and have honest conversations about their experiences in the industry.
“Mentoring can be particularly valuable. Having someone to offer guidance, share their experience or simply act as a sounding board can make a real difference to a person’s confidence and progression.”
Deceuninck’s support for the network forms part of its wider commitment to investing in people and contributing to the long-term development of the window and door industry.
As a Founding Corporate Member, Deceuninck UK will support WFN as it develops its programme of professional development, mentoring, training and networking activities.
Alison continued: “This is not about supporting an initiative in name only. We want to play an active role and help the network create opportunities that are genuinely useful to women working across the sector.
“Deceuninck has always understood the value of investing in people, both within our own business and across the wider industry. Supporting WFN is another practical way in which we can help people develop their skills, grow in confidence and build rewarding, long-term careers in fenestration.
“We are very pleased to become a Founding Corporate Member and look forward to supporting the network as it continues to grow.”
