Forterro has supported Glazerite with an eight-month server and dataset upgrade project designed to improve system speed, scalability and operational efficiency.
Forterro has worked with Glazerite since the fabricator was founded in 2000, supporting the company with systems including Evolution and Satellite pricing, ordering and manufacturing software, EvoNet order tracking and stock control, and the Courier proof of delivery tool.
The latest project supported Glazerite’s migration to a new server infrastructure as part of ongoing investment in IT performance, security and scalability. Forterro’s software development division in Scotland worked with Glazerite’s IT team to plan and complete a full dataset rebuild.
According to the companies, the rebuild was completed ahead of schedule, allowing Glazerite to move its order processing functions to the new server earlier than planned.
The project, led internally by Glazerite Senior Software Product Developer Andy Thompson, enabled the company to remove redundant profiles and hardware from its system while consolidating machining set-ups to create what it describes as a faster and easier-to-maintain platform.
Forterro completed updates to Glazerite’s Batch Release Module, machine drivers, GlazeBot automated task and reporting tool, Courier delivery system and EvoSatellite configuration.
EvoNet, which manages order tracking, barcode scanning and stock control, was recreated jointly by Glazerite and Forterro to operate dynamically across both server environments during the transition.
Paul Jagger, Head of Group IT at Glazerite, said: “Our advanced IT set-up has always been an important differentiator for us in this market, and this project ensures that we maintain that advantage.
“There is always some inherent risk in migrating to a new server, but working with the Forterro team ensured that we were able to mitigate that risk almost entirely. Their support was crucial in the successful delivery of this project.
“The feedback I’ve received from both within Glazerite and from our customers using our EvoSatellite ordering system is that the transition has been seamless, with significant performance improvements.”
