Jade Achieves ISO Certification

Jade Engineering has announced it has once again achieved internationally recognised management standards, marking the culmination of a major two-year programme of investment and creating a stronger platform for the company’s next phase of growth.

The Coventry-based machinery and tooling specialist has secured ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality management and ISO 45001:2018 certification for occupational health and safety. Both certifications have been awarded by BSI following a rigorous independent assessment of Jade’s systems, procedures and working practices.

For Jade, the achievement represents considerably more than gaining two certificates. It represents the massive effort directors Adam Jones and Sean Mackey have poured into the business over the last three years, not just in setting up new facilities, but also implementing an entire infrastructure designed to achieve greater consistency, closer attention to customer feedback and a determination to keep improving every aspect of Jade’s overall operations.

Over the past three years, Jade has invested close to £5 million in its manufacturing facilities, equipment, infrastructure and internal processes. The company has also continued to develop its product range and specialist engineering capabilities, enabling it to respond more effectively to the changing requirements of window and door fabricators.

Sean Mackey, co-director of Jade Engineering, said:

“Achieving ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 is the culmination of three years of sustained investment in our facilities, infrastructure, systems and people. We have worked hard to build a business that is properly equipped for the future, rather than simply reacting to the demands of today.

“The certification process has required us to examine every part of the way we operate. It has helped us identify where we are performing well, where we can become more efficient and how we can deliver an even more consistent service to our customers.

“We now have the facilities, structure and foundations in place. The focus is firmly on growth: expanding our capabilities, developing new solutions and helping more fabricators improve the quality, efficiency and profitability of their production.”

ISO 9001 provides a framework through which Jade can monitor performance, maintain consistency and drive continuous improvement. Central to the standard is a clear understanding of customer requirements—something Jade believes is essential in an industry where production challenges can vary significantly between individual fabricators.

Rather than developing machinery and tooling in isolation, Jade works closely with customers to understand the practical issues encountered on the factory floor. That feedback informs both new product development and the ongoing refinement of existing solutions.

Sean continued:

“Listening to customers has always been central to how Jade operates. Some of our best developments have started with a fabricator explaining a production problem and asking whether there is a better, safer or more efficient way to solve it.

“ISO 9001 strengthens that process by ensuring customer feedback is captured, reviewed and used to support measurable improvement. It gives customers further reassurance that quality is controlled throughout the business—not inspected into a product at the very end.”

ISO 45001 reflects Jade’s parallel commitment to providing a safe, well-managed working environment for its employees and visitors. It also complements the company’s wider focus on engineering machinery and tooling that helps fabricators reduce manual intervention and adopt safer, more controlled manufacturing processes.

The dual certification gives Jade a structured framework for managing future expansion without compromising the standards of quality, service and safety on which its reputation has been built.

Sean concluded:

“Growth only works if it is built on solid foundations. These certifications give us a robust framework through which we can grow while continuing to improve.

“They also demonstrate to customers, employees and prospective partners that we are serious about quality, safety and long-term investment. We are proud of what the team has achieved, but this is not the finishing line. It is the foundation for what comes next.”

Jade Engineering’s ISO 9001:2015 certification is valid until August 2029, while its ISO 45001:2018 certification runs until February 2029, subject to the required ongoing assessments.
