Moralt Firesound Plus 54 Launches

Norseal says the Moralt Firesound Plus 54 door core has achieved certified acoustic performance of up to 45dB (Rw) for single-leaf doors and 44dB (Rw) for double-leaf doors when tested using Norseal acoustic and smoke sealing systems.

According to Norseal, the 54mm timber door core combines FD30 and FD60 fire performance with acoustic insulation in a single solution designed for door manufacturers, architects and specifiers.

The system has been independently verified under the BM Trada Q-Mark and IFCC schemes and can accommodate concealed ironmongery, electronic and RFID locking systems, alongside a range of glazing options.

Testing for the Moralt Firesound Plus 54 used Norseal’s NOR710 and NOR720 acoustic perimeter seals together with the NOR810 threshold drop seal.

Norseal says the combination delivered repeatable performance and provides a tested route to compliance for projects requiring both acoustic and fire certification.

“The Firesound Plus 54 sets a new benchmark for performance and versatility,” said Michael Spoors, Managing Director at Norseal. “It combines Moralt’s advanced timber engineering with our sealing expertise to deliver a tested, certified system that meets today’s standards for safety and acoustic control.”

According to Norseal, growing demand for high-performance door assemblies across commercial, hospitality and residential sectors is increasing the need for tested systems that simplify compliance requirements.

Norseal describes itself as a specialist distributor of door sealing solutions, supplying fire, smoke and acoustic seals to manufacturers, architects and specifiers.
