Door & Hardware Federation (DHF) has launched a new generation of smart-scannable CSCS cards for professionals working across the door, gate and loading-bay industries, helping construction sites quickly and easily verify the competence, qualifications and training of operatives.
The new physical cards feature a smart-scannable chip which authorised site personnel, including site managers, supervisors, security teams and induction teams, can scan using the CSCS Smart Check app. This provides access to verified, up-to-date information held securely on the cardholder’s record, including qualifications, completed DHF training, occupational endorsements and expiry information.
Rather than storing information directly on the card itself, the smart-scannable card links to a secure database which means that records can be updated as operatives complete further training, achieve qualifications or gain additional endorsements, providing a more accurate and current picture of their competence. DHF will manage the processing and administration of card applications, continuing its commitment to supporting high standards of competence and safety across the industries it represents.

The new cards build on DHF’s existing CSCS Partner Card Scheme, which was established in collaboration with the Automatic Door Suppliers Association (ADSA) in 2019. The scheme supports professionals working across a wide range of occupations, including industrial doors and shutters, domestic garage doors, automated gates and traffic barriers, metal and timber doors, as well as loading-bay equipment. Existing cardholders will receive the new smart-scannable card when they renew their current card.
