Glazerite has reported continued growth in demand for coloured products, with colour now accounting for approximately 43% of its overall production compared to around 30% eight years ago.
The increase reflects stronger homeowner demand for more design choice, with coloured foils becoming a significant part of window and door specification across both replacement and renovation projects. For installers, this shift is creating new opportunities while placing more emphasis on product choice, manufacturing flexibility and reliable lead times.
Jeff Dunn, Group Sales & Commercial Director at Glazerite, said: “Colour has become a much bigger part of the sales conversation over the last decade.
“Eight years ago, coloured products accounted for around 30% of our production. Today that figure is approximately 43%, which demonstrates how customer preferences have evolved.
“Homeowners are placing greater emphasis on aesthetics, personalisation and kerb appeal, and that is having a direct influence on the products installers are specifying.”
As interest in coloured products grows, manufacturers are supporting a broader range of foils, finishes and product options while maintaining the service levels installers rely on.
For installers, offering more colour choice has become an important way of meeting homeowner expectations and adding value to every project.
According to Jeff, supporting that level of choice requires flexibility throughout the manufacturing process.
“Customers want access to more colours, more finishes and more options than ever before,” he said.
“Providing that level of choice also requires dependable lead times and consistent service.
“As customer expectations evolve, manufacturing flexibility becomes more important because installers still need confidence that products will arrive when they expect them.”
Glazerite manufactures multiple profile systems, including VEKA and Deceuninck, alongside an expanding aluminium range that includes products from AluK and Cortizo.
Operating across multiple systems provides greater flexibility when supporting changing customer requirements.
“The advantage of operating multiple systems is that it gives us greater flexibility,” Jeff explained.
“Where one option may create delays, alternative systems can often help customers achieve a similar finish while maintaining project timescales.
“That means installers can continue providing homeowners with the colours and styles they want while keeping projects moving efficiently.”
Supporting a broader range of colours also requires manufacturers to manage more complex stockholding, purchasing and production planning.
Glazerite's manufacturing capability and broad product portfolio give installers access to a wide range of colours, finishes and design options across both PVC-U and aluminium systems through a single supplier.
Jeff said: “Installers are looking for suppliers that can provide both choice and reliability.
“They want access to a broad range of products, but they also need confidence that those products will be delivered on time and supported by good service.
“That combination becomes even more valuable as homeowner expectations evolve.”
The growth in colour demand reinforces the importance of maintaining a broad product range and investing in the manufacturing capability needed to support future customer requirements.
Jeff concluded: “Colour remains one of the strongest trends we see across the market.
“Customers are choosing from a wider range of finishes and product styles, and installers need suppliers that can support those requirements.
“Our focus is on providing the product choice, flexibility and service that allows customers to respond confidently to changing market demand.”
