Fast-Growing Coen Glazing Systems Partners With Emmegi (UK)

Fast-growing Galway-based fabricator Coen Glazing Systems has strengthened its partnership with Emmegi (UK), adding both a 4-axis Comet X6HP CNC and a Precision RS twin head saw to the Phantomatic M3 CNC it purchased in 2024.

The company’s 30,000 sq ft factory in Ballinsloe, Galway is rapidly becoming something of a showcase for Emmegi’s range of quality, precision machinery, with a solution crimper also completing the line up.

Coen Glazing is a real success story. Founded seven years ago by brothers Niall and Darren Coen initially as a domestic and commercial installer, it has enjoyed unparalleled levels of success since switching to commercial fabrication two years ago.

It has seen turnover treble during that time, and is rapidly building a reputation as a ‘go to’ supplier of aluminium windows, doors, curtain walling and associated louvres, briese soleil, cills and flashings for schools, student accommodation, build to rent apartments, hospitals and hotels.

It was the award of a large uniform curtain walling contract that prompted the Coen Glazing team to invest in their own fabrication set up. They wanted to be more adaptable and responsive to customers and have more control over quality and efficiency

When they contacted the team at Emmegi (UK) to discuss sourcing a machining centre, Emmegi already had the ideal Phantomatic M3 CNC in stock, which they were able to deliver and install within two weeks. Coen Glazing were impressed from the outset with that level of service and efficiency; and has continued to be impressed with Emmegi ever since.

Niall Coen commented: “Choosing Emmegi as our machinery partner has turned out to be a great decision. The customer service is excellent. Jim O’Connell, the Area Sales Manager for Ireland is always available to answer the phone and resolve any issues that might arise and we are never waiting more than one or two days if we need a visit from the service team. The head office team are equally helpful, and all the paperwork and admin associated with buying and servicing is seamless.
“Unsurprisingly, Emmegi were the only real choice when we needed to invest in more machinery this year to keep pace with our growth, and we were grateful for Jim’s expert advice in choosing the combination of Comet X6HP and Precision RS saw. These two highly advanced machines are giving us a huge step up in volume and efficiency and mean we can now take on virtually any type and scale of project.
“We’re forecasting 50% growth again in 2026 and we have absolute confidence that Emmegi will support us in that.”
Jim O’Connell added: “I’ve worked closely with Coen Glazing over the last two years and really understand the strengths and ambitions of the business. I recommended the Comet X6 HP 4-axis CNC because it can do exactly what they need in terms of increasing volumes and optimising efficiency. It has a pendular mode which allows profile to be machined in two independent work areas and two supplementary axes to position the vices and reference stops. That means they can potentially work on up to four separate pieces at the same time, maximising their throughput.
“Similarly, the Precision RS is a high speed, high capacity touch screen controlled twin head saw with a 600mm blade and radial cutting functionality. It is the ideal partner for both the X6 and the M3 and represents a real step up in volume and precision.
“We delivered and installed both machines, as well as the accompanying Solution crimper, on time, and our team are available to provide any amount of training and support that Coen Glazing might need.”
