Emmegi (UK) has completed the refurbishment of a Phantomatic T3 Star 4-axis CNC machine, following a comprehensive overhaul at its Coventry facility.
The machine arrived from a customer in Ireland for refurbishment for the second-hand market, having been heavily utilised and requiring a full strip-down. Over a period of more than two months, the engineering team dismantled the machine to its framework, repairing, refurbishing or replacing key components.
Wayne Hunter, Operations Manager at Emmegi (UK), said: “We regularly refurbish machines we take back from existing customers to extend their lives in the second-hand market, but this refurbishment was on another level. It took more than two months of detailed work to prepare it for resale.”
The process included cleaning and degreasing internal components, servicing bearing rails and racks, replacing tool holders, and refurbishing energy chains, filters and electrical panels. Exterior panels were also cleaned and repainted before the machine was reassembled, tested and calibrated.
The refurbished Phantomatic T3 Star, complete with a rotating work table, has been supplied to Vitrine Aluminium in St Helens.
Paul Fradley, Managing Director at Vitrine Aluminium, said the decision to acquire a refurbished machine aligned with the company’s focus on efficiency and investment planning. He noted that the machine supports production capability while allowing capital to be allocated elsewhere within the business.
Emmegi (UK) states that refurbishment using original equipment manufacturer parts and software helps extend machine life while maintaining performance standards.
