Carl F Groupco Adds Prestbury

Carl F Groupco has further expanded its product portfolio with the addition of the new Prestbury Egress Easy Clean Restricted Friction Stay from Cotswold Architectural Products.

Launching in September 2026, Prestbury is an innovative 3-in-1 friction stay that combines restricted opening, full egress and easy-clean functionality in a single product.

Commenting on the introduction, Owen Coop, CEO of Carl F Groupco, said: “Prestbury is a very strong addition to our range because it brings together three important functions within one intelligently designed friction stay. The attention to detail in areas such as the protected restrictor, load-dependent child safety and automatic reset makes it a particularly well-considered product. For our customers, it also offers the practical advantages of a 3-in-1 solution that can help simplify hardware requirements.”

Prestbury has been developed with safety at the heart of its design. Its full-width restrictor is shielded beneath the third arm of the hinge, protecting it from lifting, bending or arm clash. Child safety is further enhanced through a load-dependent release mechanism. When the sash is restricted, the weight of the window prevents the release button from being pressed. The sash must first be closed to remove the load before the restriction can be deliberately overridden.

When required, Prestbury provides true full egress, with the window opening fully towards the frame to maximise the clear opening for emergency escape and rescue access. Its easy-clean function uses a simple press-and-slide operation, while the high-visibility green release tab is instantly identifiable when needed. Once cleaning is complete, simply closing and reopening the window automatically returns the stay to restricted mode, eliminating the need for manual repositioning.

For fabricators, Prestbury is supplied in dedicated matched pairs, simplifying ordering and helping to prevent stock imbalance. Performance and durability are equally important, with Prestbury tested to 25,000 cycles for long-term reliability.

Owen concluded: “Cotswold Architectural Products has a strong reputation for developing hardware around the practical needs of the market. Prestbury is another example of that approach – one stay, three functions and a straightforward solution for fabricators and end users.”

Cotswold Architectural Products is one of almost 60 manufacturers stocked by Carl F Groupco. Its broad and carefully curated product range, backed by expert technical and commercial support, ensures fabricators have access to the latest hardware product innovations to meet the demands of today’s market.
