Epwin Window Systems’ QHSE Manager Tom Langford is taking on a series of demanding running events throughout 2026 to raise funds for two charities close to his heart – Down’s Syndrome UK (PADS) and the Down’s Syndrome Association.
Tom, who recently joined Epwin Window Systems, is planning to complete a minimum of 20 running events this year, ranging from 10Ks and half marathons through to a full marathon and ultra-distance challenges.
The fundraising effort is inspired by Tom’s daughter, Poppy, who was born with Down’s Syndrome and will soon celebrate her fourth birthday.
He added: “The Down’s Syndrome Association has been fantastic as Poppy gets older, providing advice and resources around things like toilet training, starting school and growing up with Down’s Syndrome. Their support continues right through into adult life.”
Tom’s 2026 challenge begins with a demanding weekend in March that includes a 29-mile section of the RunAcrossUK relay between Congleton and Stafford on 21 March, followed the next day by the Ironbridge Half Marathon. He will also be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April, alongside numerous additional races throughout the year. Among the toughest events will be the Pen Llŷn Ultra in November which is a 50km challenge that crosses the beaches of Pwllheli and climbs the hills of the Llŷn Peninsula.
Tom is aiming to raise more than £2,000 during 2026 to support the work of both charities, which provide guidance, resources and community support to thousands of families across the UK.
