Staffordshire-based trade supplier Midland Aluminium is bringing a new slim interlock option to its Visoglide Plus range, cutting the visible frame profile where glass panels overlap down to 20mm from the previous 35mm.
The slimmer interlock will allow installers to offer a patio door that features slimmer sightlines as the aluminium sliding patio door market continues to grow.
Jason Wootton, Director at Midland Aluminium, said: “Homeowners want thinner profiles and more glass these days so they can look out at their garden without a chunky frame getting in the way.”
Jason explained the thinking behind the move: “Bifolds are rarely fully opened, so when they're closed those vertical mullions cut right across the view. A slimline slider with a 20mm interlock provides near-uninterrupted glazing. That's the look people are asking for now and it's where the market is heading.”
The Visoglide Plus delivers everything installers and the end user expect from a premium aluminium sliding patio door, including superior thermal performance with U values as low as 1.4 W/m²K, PAS24:2022 compliant security, BS Kitemark accreditation and a wide choice of colours and finishes as standard.
“This isn't about replacing what we already offer, and the 35mm is still available,” Jason added. “It's about giving installers another option. Some customers want the slimmest possible sightline, some are happy with our existing systems, and now we can meet both, so they can get what they need from one supplier.
“We expect the slim interlock Visoglide to become a flagship product within our portfolio.”
Midland Aluminium supplies the complete Visoglide system direct to trade across the UK, with 24-hour quotes and free weekly delivery nationwide.
