Revolutionary Online Training

The Glass and Glazing Federation’s brand new online training and development platform, incorporating its dedicated online tutor GRACE, will launch to all current and future GGF members during a webinar to be held on 4th November.

This dynamic LMS (Learning Management System) will make it easier for members to keep training credentials, industry specific competencies and a range of soft skills completely up to date, futureproofing a company against the skills and knowledge gap.

Replacing text heavy courses with dynamic interactive elements and video, GRACE (Glazing Resources & Career Education) gives companies greater control to manage the ongoing training of their workforce. Every individual employee will have their own access and pathway through relevant courses as organised by their employer. The Learning Management System will open up industry standard, regulated and recognised training courses within a highly affordable, convenient and easy to use framework.

“Taking into account the impact of incidents such as Grenfell, the need to evidence core competencies beyond previously acknowledged Grandfather rights, the introduction of the Building Safety Regulator, and the ever widening skills shortages in our industry, GGF Training is designed to grow and evolve in line with changing market demands and regulations,” commented GGF technical officer and training manager John Mannell. “The webinar will showcase the platform’s wide range of courses, as well as demonstrate its overall simplicity.”

Available both on desktop and as an App, GGF Training offers a modern, user-friendly interface that makes learning easier. It currently houses over 40 courses which include industry specific modules such as Regulation 14 for Safety Glass, in addition to more general courses around customer services, mental health in the workplace, and health and safety.

“The GGF has long been ideally placed to bring together the knowledge and skills required to operate safely and competently within the industry,” continued John Mannell. “We will continue to work with our preferred training partner Total Support Training in the highly successful Skilled Pathways scheme – an area which we are committed to growing and developing as we make inroads into further education establishments and apprenticeship schemes. Meanwhile, this new platform will enable our members to clear obstacles of cost, time and geography to ensure additional and essential courses can be completed by all who need it.”

The development of this new LMS was carried out in collaboration with one the UK’s leading software platforms, Nucleus Learning.

“Over the last 4 years, Nucleus Learning has helped industries revolutionise their teaching and learning standards. Working with industries such as Road & Haulage, Warehousing, Fuel Distribution and Heavy Lifting we could not be more excited to help John and the team at the GGF with their exciting and well-thought-out initiative,” commented Richard Ainley, CRO at Nucleus Training.
