New Year Innovations From Makita

Makita has launched a range of new tools and accessories for 2020, with a number ideally suited to the window, door and glazing industry.

This includes the compact, versatile 12V CXT ratchet wrench, the powerful and efficient 18V LXT impact driver and the innovative Auto-Start Wireless (AWS) Bluetooth adaptor for compatible dust extractors.

The new WR100DZ 12Vmax Ratchet Wrench is part of Makita’s CXT (Compact Extreme Technology) range of powerful tools with the smaller, lighter 12V batteries for ease of use and handling, especially where space is limited. The ratchet wrench features a variable speed trigger for precise, accurate operation and a trigger lock switch to prevent accidental activation. It also includes an LED job light to illuminate the area to make work easier. The socket adaptor on the tool can also be removed to convert it into a pass through ratchet wrench, ideal for use on long threaded bolts.

Makita has also added the DTD156Z 18V cordless impact driver to its LXT range. It delivers 3,000 impacts per minute of tightening force and has a capacity of up to M14 for standard bolts, M12 for high strength bolts and up to 125mm for coarse thread screws. With the Makita LXT range of tools, the same lithium ion batteries can be used on over 200 cordless products allowing users to work flexibly with different machines to complete the required tasks.

WUT02 Wireless Unit Adaptor
Also recently launched is the WUT02 Wireless Unit Adaptor for use with Automatic Start Wireless System (AWS) compatible cordless tools. The adaptor attaches to any dust extractor unit with a power take off socket and connects to any AWS tool using Bluetooth technology to activate the extractor when the tool is in use. Makita has a growing range of AWS machines and the addition of the Wireless Unit Adaptor offers an ideal solution for on-site dust management for contractors to connect to any brand of L-, M- and H-class extractors with either a 110V or 240V power take off socket. AWS saves energy, increases productivity and reduces noise as the extractor only runs when required.

The tool and extractor connect quickly and easily. Simply plug the Bluetooth AWS chip into the port on compatible tools and pair the devices with the push of a button. The Wireless Unit Adaptor can hold up to 10 tools in memory for simple operation when switching between tools. AWS compatible cordless tools include Makita Twin 18V Angle Grinder, 18V Circular Saw, Twin 18V Plunge Saw, Twin 18V Slide Compound Mitre Saw and Twin 18V Rotary Hammer.
